STILL FROM BRUCE PEARSON'S VIDEO STUDIO VISIT

On December 10th hMa hosted an event for twenty hMa clients, featuring the outstanding work of artist Bruce Pearson; seamstress and artisan Betsy Davis, who fabricates hMa’s unusual and luxurious window treatments from Natural fibers;  and Sound Artist Michael Schumacher, who presented his newly developed Sound Installations, which will be available on DVD through Michael’s website.  Michael is currently collaborating with hMa on the future Battery Park City Community Center facade where Michael’s Bird Song, which can also be heard on hMa’s home page, will be featured as a visual interpolation of sound.

Look for hMa’s next event, in the Spring 2008, when we will feature the visual art of talented New York Painter Joe Amrhein, readings by writer and editor Susan Swenson;  as well as a presentation by both Joe and Susan about their ground-breaking Gallery, Pierogi 2000, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  hMa will also have a representative from Union Square Wines who will talk about local New York wines, going hand in hand with hMa’s vision of Sustainable architecture, based in Nature.

Who knows, perhaps hMa has a new Winery in their future?

This initiative is one of several cutting-edge planning initiatives that forward thinking architects will be adopting as we seek to harmonize human habitats with nature and create sustainable development.
