hanrahanMeyers are pleased to announce that their 'Church of the Light' in Queens, New York, is scheduled for completion this May, 2009.
The project is based on the concept of bringing light into a new chapel through a complex folded plate roof structure. The chapel will be floating, through the mechanism a 'trough of light' that severs the floor of the chapel from the rest of the building.
The entry lobby features large areas of glass that accentuate the building's unique roof structure.
All photos show the building, in progress.
